Then I was able to conquer some more counties around it, including Casterly Rock and Lannisport. I was able to conquer Fair Isle and the little peninsula below it when they somehow became independent. This is great, because it gives you a shit ton of weak states that you can walk over with relative impunity. Also, I'm not sure how common this is, but Westeros seems to keep balkanizing a lot with the Iron Throne remaining relatively weak, until lately when they got some balls and started actually united all those kingdoms who broke lose. Before I conquered Westeros, I had stored 20,000 gold, far, far, far more than anyone else. You can reave anytime you want, so you always have something to do, and you just gain so much gold from it.

The only thing you need to worry about is succession, which can be a bitch because it's super easy to become an asshole tyrant and have some other random guy voted for in the Kingsmoot.
